TBS receives MS 1900:2005 Accreditation
KUCHING: Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) has created history for being the first religious institution in Sarawak to receive the MS 1900: 2005 Accreditation (Islamic Perspective).
TBS received the accreditation during the MS1900:2005 Seminar and Certificate presentation in Kuala Lumpur, yesterday.
The cer tificate for the MS 1900:2005 (Islamic Perspective) Accreditation was presented by Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovat ion Datuk Haji Fadillah Yusof to the General Manager of TBS, Abang Haji Mohd Shibli Abang Mohd Nailie.
So far, only 15 organisations in Malaysia have received this accreditation and TBS is the only organisation from Sarawak.
TBS had also received accreditation from SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd for its implementation of Quality Management MS ISO 9001:2008.
The recognition is a continuation of a series of excellence that had been achieved by TBS after obtaining clean certificates from the National Audit Department for 11 consecutive years since 2000 (after the restructuring of TBS in 1999).
The certificates received were Certification of 5S (Fast Track) in 2005, the Public Services Quality Award of Sarawak in 2005, the MS ISO 9001:2000 Certification in 2005, the National 5S Special Winners in 2005 and 2006, Recognition For Quality Practitioners in 2008 and 2009, the MS ISO 9001:2008 Certification in 2009, Quality Environment (5S) National Level 2009, Financial Management Excellence Award Based Accountability Index 2009 (Four Star) in 2010 and this year the Public Sector Financial Management Innovation Award (AIPK).
AIPK is an award given to agencies that achieve excellence in organisational management, particularly in the culture of innovation, the level of improvement, the impact on agencies and stakeholders as well as originality of ideas.
