Fadillah confident Chinese youths vote BN

KUCHING: State Barisan Nasional (BN) Youth chief Datuk Fadillah Yusof Fadillah is confident that Chinese youths will be behind BN in the upcoming 13th general election.

He said his assessment was based on positive sentiments shown by the Chinese youths on the ground compared to the last state election.

“I think we are going to do better this time compared to the last state election because of the increasing support from the Chinese youths.

“You can see we have many young Chinese leaders who are eager to make sure that BN will win this time around,” he told The Borneo Post after receiving a courtesy call from members of Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) Pending Branch at his service centre in Jalan Astana near here yesterday.

Fadillah was asked whether young Chinese were returning to BN.

Among those present during the courtesy call were SPDP Pending branch chief Athanasius Audie Chua and SPDP vice president Captain Zainuddin Tan Sri Hamdan and SPDP Pending Women’s Wing chief Winnie Lim.

On another matter, Fadillah, who is also the chairman of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Pending branch, gave his full support to the ‘1Malaysia Night with P195 and P196 Friends’ organised by SPDP Pending Women’s Wing.

The programme, which will be held on Aug 29 with the theme ‘Best Friends Forever Charity Movie Night’ at tHe Spring Shopping Mall’s MBO Cineplex, is part of the wing’s initiative to strengthen solidarity between BN component parties.

Lim said besides that, the objective of the programme is to launch the BN election machinery for P195 Bandar Kuching and P196 Stampin.

“The programme is organised to give support to our BN component parties, especially for SUPP P195 Bandar Kuching and P196 Stampin candidates in preparation for the upcoming 13th parliamentary election through premier charity showcase events,” Lim said.

The guests-of-honour will be SPDP president Tan Sri William Mawan and SUPP president Datuk Seri Peter Chin Fah Kui.

Besides the two presidents, Bandar Kuching candidate Tan Kai and Stampin MP Datuk Yong Khoon Seng are also expected to deliver their speeches.

All BN component parties in the state namely PBB, SUPP, Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) and SPDP will be represented at the event.
