KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has formed a dedicated division to further reduce the chances of corruption involving government departments, government-linked companies and enforcement agencies.
The Inspection and Consultation Unit, with more than 60 well-trained officers specialising in various fields, will identify and propose measures to fight corruption which is getting more complex in nature.
“We need to find new methods and approaches to reduce chances of corruption and what better way than to identify and plug the weaknesses in the system itself,” MACC Chief Commissioner Datuk Seri Abu Kassim Mohamed told The Star.
However, he said wiping out corruption totally was impossible but it could definitely be reduced.
The MACC's new approach and method have yielded positive results.
